And you could try setting ‘close_paid_lost_loans’ to FALSE temporarily, and try checking in that item again.

That might be a workaround, until the July release of Alma.

With close_lost_paid_loans set to TRUE, if you waive an associated fine (rather than pay it), you aren’t able to return the item.

This is an issue that, via Highline’s open case, ExL will be addressing in the Alma July release.

Hi, friends!

I'm helping our circulation department troubleshoot an odd transaction that appears to be locked.  The item was was overdue long enough to be marked lost.  It was returned and the charges / lost status removed.

The item is still charged to the patron and has the status "loan."  The patron is active.  The item is on LUO Reserve.  However, when we try to discharge the item, and error occurs saying its not possible.  Please see the screenshot below.  We waited 24 hours and the problem still persists.  I can't delete the item record and recreate it due to the loan status.

Beyond reporting this to Ex Libris for them to tinker with behind the scenes, has anyone encountered this and come up with a solution?  Any ideas for next steps?
