Hi Debbie,

Wade is away from his desk for a little while this morning, so I'll share the response he received on the case he opened for this issue.

Dear Wade Guidry,

A new comment was received for case #00526009:

Case Title: Repository Import jobs stuck in queue

Last comment:
Hi Wade,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I just checked both examples and it appears the jobs have completed successfully.

Generally, when jobs run slowly we recommend waiting to see how the job progresses overnight, when there are fewer demands on the servers. Individual jobs - including imports - in Alma are run dynamically, meaning the processing speed can vary throughout the time the job is running, as resources are allocated to other jobs and activities within Alma.

Although this may cause job(s) to stall temporarily, the overall system performance stays balanced and optimized. That's one reason why we recommend letting jobs that appear to be "stuck" run their course, as they'll usually complete faster if they're left to finish, rather than aborting and restarting.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Soooo...it sounds like the advice is to wait it out.

I'm still finding it extremely slow when trying to import from OCLC. Waiting for a file to import and it has been 10 minutes. Anyone else having problems.
