[Wactclc-alma] Employee data imported into ALMA

At Yakima, we initially did not load the home address information. Then I changed it so the information was loaded. I tried to find out what the campus policy was about such information, but did not get a response. To err on the safe side, I changed back to not loading the information.

Our college has not loaded employee work email addresses into PPMS so emails go to employee personal addresses. I've found that some of those are whatever was provided when the employee first applied for a job and may no longer be valid.

Our work around is to print employee notices and put them in envelopes for confidentiality and send them by interoffice mail to the employee. However, after reading Nadine's comments from Green River, I might go back to including addresses and mailing notices to home addresses.

I appreciate this discussion because it has given me some new things to think about. :)

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] Employee data imported into ALMA

Dear wise ones,

I am putting out a call for some "how you do it at your library" responses.

1. I want to know which colleges have employee home addresses and/or home phone numbers for their employees in Alma.

As I understand the SBCTC process parameters, you can indicate that you don't want to copy over home addresses or home phone numbers if those fields are designated as confidential. Further, I believe that in order to prevent any of this data from going into Alma, the HR department would have to code all of the employees as having confidential addresses and phone numbers. *Please let me know if I am wrong about this.*

2. I would like to know if you make use of this data, eg. Send notices to employees' homes, or look up home phone numbers in case you need to call after hours.

Thanks!

-Sally
