[Wactclc-alma] Follow up to Cataloging equipment

Hi,

I'm working on creating our procedure for cataloging equipment using the "Create Inventory Item" under Resources.  The one thing I see is that each time I create a new inventory item, it comes up with a work order.  Is there any way to prevent this from happening, or is that just something that automatically takes place?

We're using blocks like Olympic does to provide a pop-up message to circ staff that some kind of action needs to be taken.  One of the things I appreciate about Blocks is that you can set them up to be overrideable by different levels of staff.

For example, we have a block configured to provide a pop-up notice when patrons don't have an email account on record.  All circ staff can override this block.  We have another block that shows up when patrons owe more than a certain amount for lost items.  That block can only be overridden by someone with a Circulation Supervisor role.

Here's the pop-up message circ staff see for a patron with no email address.  (Note: Circ staff other than a supervisor can add the email address, but we had/have a bunch of new students in training, so it was just easier to tell them to go get help.)

We are using the new UI but decided our student workers at the circ desk might not notice the Notes, and still be better off with popups.  Our student workers also have roles that allow them to override blocks and edit patron records.  The only type of Block/popup description that was set up in our system was "Demerit" but we discovered you can set up different types of Block descriptions which is helpful in deciphering the Block notice.  For example, we created an "Update user information" Block description:

Now the popup shows up like this with a more appropriate explanation:

Following up on today's discussion about patron notes.

The patron notes don't pop-up (and require a response by the operator), but in the new UI they do display prominently when you access an account via Manage Patron services.  They aren't hidden on a separate tab like they were in the old UI.
