[Wactclc-alma] Problem with See Also References showing up in Primo

This note came out on Primo-L this morning.

So, it appears that the change in publishing behavior noticed by Edmonds and Green River was related to an issue in (I’m guessing) the May Alma release, and was resolved in the June release.

This is second-hand info (not from ExL directly), but Leicester has been on Alma and Primo a while, and posts to the lists regularly, so a pretty reliable source.

Ex Libris have replied to our SF case acknowledging that this was a bug and fixed in the June release. And: “To apply the fix to all the records you should run the Publishing to Primo job selecting the Run full publishing checkbox. Here at Edmonds Community College we discovered that if we take off "Headings enrichment"  from the Primo publishing job and then reload the records in question, the extra headings disappear from the Primo display.  Simply taking off "Headings enrichment" wasn't enough, we also had to reload the records.

When you check the "Headings enrichment" section it brings up the "Heading enrichment - enrich with "See-Also" fields" option; however, we never checked this option, so I am still confused why we were seeing See-Also headings.

We don't know enough about normalization rules to know if we could have done anything with them, but for now our problem is corrected.

Has anyone else noticed See Also references showing up as linked subject headings in your Primo catalog?

Everything that we have added to Alma recently has See Also references showing in Primo, some with a small g in front of the subject term.

An example is here:  The MARC record for this title has 4 LC Subject Heading; however, Primo is showing many more linked subject headings.
