Just FYI, this may already be understood, but thought I'd point it out, just in case...


 link checkers will be good at identifying broken links. That is, links resulting in 404 error (no web page found).


However, link checkers won't be able to point out or highlight links to subscription resources to which you don't really have access. That's because, even if you don't actually have access to a resource, the link will still resolve, to the vendor's web site.

I don't recall who was talking about checking their links in today's meetings, but I found this article in the Developer's Network about exporting URLs from Alma and then running them through a 3rd party link checker. The article mentions using LinkChecker, and another that Sally had mentioned is called Xenu. I hope this helps whomever was asking about it.
