Yes, we allow an exact replacement to be purchased. We would not accept a replacement for equipment that is a knockoff brand. We also have allowed students to purchase replacement books on occasion.

Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] Student-bought replacements

Hello and happy Friday!

When a student loses a library item, do you allow them to provide a replacement on their own if it's an exact replacement? For example, a student who loses a Chromebook charger ($30 replacement cost at our library), offering to replace it with a new one they found on Amazon for $15?

Thanks and have a wonderful weekend all!
