[LIBRARYDIR] Student-bought replacements

Our library doesn't offer the option for students to purchase replacement cables.  Our IT dept is very firm about purchasing Dell power adaptors for Chromebooks and laptops because of potential quality issues with off brand replacements.  For hotspots cables and plugs, the library buys in bulk and maintains a low price replacement cost for students.

Nope.  We have a firm policy requiring them to reimburse the college for the amount it spent purchasing the item, whatever it is.

When a student loses a library item, do you allow them to provide a replacement on their own if it's an exact replacement? For example, a student who loses a Chromebook charger ($30 replacement cost at our library), offering to replace it with a new one they found on Amazon for $15?
