Dear College Community:
We are pleased to announce that both the LegacyLink and Legacy Transcript applications are ready for users to access today!
Thank you to all who participated in this significant effort.  Hats off to college project leaders, college security administrators, Legacy Project Advisory Group members, and the SBCTC IT team for their work leading up to this major milestone.
The old Legacy system will head off into the sunset on August 30, 2023, marking 42 years since the Washington Community College Computing Consortium (the W4Cs) first implemented and began supporting the Payroll/Personnel Management System (PPMS) back in 1981.
What’s Next?
Access to LegacyLink and/or Legacy Transcript
Each college’s security administrator for these new applications (LegacyLink and Legacy Transcripts) will start assigning access in the coming days.
Once user credentials are established:

  *   LegacyLink will be available to authorized users through the ctcLink Gateway<https://myaccount.ctclink.us/> or by using the direct link: LegacyLink<https://legacylink.ctc.edu/>. Both access points use ctcLink Okta for a secure connection.
  *   Legacy Transcripts<https://legacytranscriptstaff.ctc.edu/> will be available directly to authorized users.
     *   A link to Legacy Transcripts will be added to the ctcLink Gateway at a future date.
     *   During this “soft release” period, the Legacy Transcript application will only be available for viewing and printing official and unofficial transcript records and for merging student records (if needed).

Legacy Transcript Official ‘Go-Live’ Date Selection
SBCTC asks colleges to get to know the Legacy Transcript application by taking it for a one-month test drive.
While the new Legacy Transcript application will be available to test drive, colleges will not be able to start sending transcripts from the new system until their selected “Go Live" date. Users will continue to access the Legacy HP-UX system for this functionality.
College contacts will be asked to select a date between August 1 and August 15 to officially go live. Transcript transfers from the old system will be disabled on the selected “Go Live” date. An official communication will be sent to your college ctcLink Point of Contact<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/it-support/ctclink-governance/ctclink-leader> on July 6.
As part of the go-live process, your college’s Legacy transcript data will be re-migrated to capture any changes made after June 30 to ensure they are reflected in the Legacy Transcript application.
Receiving a Local Copy of your College Legacy Data
Each college has selected a contact to download the SQL-based backup of its Legacy data. For data security, SBCTC will delete the backup file from the shared location once the college confirms it has successfully downloaded the file and restored it in the SQL file server.
By downloading its data, each college agrees to take ownership and responsibility for the data received and will be required to sign off on data protection guidelines.

SolarWinds Ticketing Update
Two new Request Type values (LegacyLink and CS: Legacy Transcript) have been added to the SolarWinds ticketing system to help assign tickets to the correct support resource.
Submit issues or questions in SolarWinds to ensure the full support team is alerted and can address your concerns.
Phase 2 Work

  *   Legacy Transcript – After the initial Phase 1 release is completed, the team will gather input, assess and clarify college feedback, and define the scope for any future improvements.
  *   Student Transcript Request – A secure solution to allow student-initiated requests for official and unofficial transcripts will be addressed in an upcoming effort.
  *   LegacyLink – After the initial Phase 1 release is complete, the team will gather input on any missing critical screens, assess feasibility of additions, and plan for any future revisions to the LegacyLink system delivery.
  *   Colleges have requested additional Q&A sessions, to be scheduled for mid- to late July.
