I attended the SBCTC meeting on January 19, 2017, and here's a summary of what happened:

Resolution 1701-07 passed. This decision establishes a point scale for determining which colleges should receive funding. Funding priority will be given to colleges demonstrating greatest need and worthiness based on a very specific point scale.

The following BAS programs were approved:
                Teaching and Early Learning-Highline
                Nursing BSN-Lake Washington
                Digital Filmmaking-Olympic
                Workforce and Trades Leadership-South Seattle
                Cyber Security-Spokane Falls

A progress report was given for the student achievement initiative. The board chair expressed concern that their proposed report completion dates of the end of the summer did not fulfill a need to create a budget by the end of spring. It was not clear if that issue was resolved.

Resolution 1701-14 passed. This decision created a GED Options Program to help students enrolled in the Open Doors 14-18 Program avoid paperwork headaches and the temporary designation of high school dropout.

Executive director recruitment and position profile were approved.
