Greetings All,

I trust everyone is enjoying their summer. I wanted to touch base with all of you regarding the next steps with the potential Canvas renewal. Considering that many of us are on well-deserved vacations this month and last, I propose that we resume our monthly meeting in September. Maggie will be sending out a doodle poll within the next couple of weeks to determine the best time for us to meet consistently throughout the next year.

Recently, I had a meeting with Canvas representatives to discuss how ETAG would like to collaborate with them starting in the Fall, to initiate talks on the renewal process. During the meeting, I shared our plan to utilize a survey we created to gather feedback from faculty, administrators, and students about their experiences with Canvas. This survey will be sent out again in early October. By analyzing this feedback, we hope to identify key themes that will outline our major priorities for addressing with Canvas.

Additionally, during the meeting with Canvas, I learned about the SBCTC Consortium, where colleges not part of the CTC system can benefit from our negotiated prices to procure their own contracts. I am curious if someone in ETAG has more insights on this matter.

Please be on the lookout for the doodle poll from Maggie, so we can collectively identify meeting times for the upcoming year. And as always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,

Michael A. Brown, Ph.D.
