Chancellors and Presidents,

As of today, both legislative chambers have reached and approved a compromise 2024 supplemental capital budget. We are pleased with the funding for our system to address the highest and most urgent needs in the short session.

The budget includes $30,406,000 in new appropriations for the community and technical college system and another $2,000,000 in local financing authority for Renton Technical College. Attached is a comparison summary of our request with funding in the supplemental budget and notes about the budget.

Also, of interest but not included in the summary is $2.3 million was added to the Department of Enterprise Services for professional service staffing. This funding will benefit our system, and other agencies that rely on the Department of Enterprise Services to procure and manage design and capital (public works) projects.
