[DEOC] [EXTERNAL] Naloxone/Narcan on your campuses?

Currently, this is what we are doing in regards to availability to Naloxone.

  *   All Campus Security Officers carry Naloxone on their person
  *   We have Naloxone publicly available at Sunhawk Residence Hall and the Library.
  *   Basic training on how to administer Naloxone can be provided upon request

We don’t have anything in place at CPTC to distribute or train people in how to administer. When I worked at Highline I got certified but that was connected to me overseeing on campus housing, however the possession of Naloxone was with Public Safety at the time. Not sure if that is still accurate.

BTC has Naloxone/Narcan on campus as of fall this year, they are available in the first aid kits located around campus, giving access to anyone who grabs one, but they are not labeled Naloxone/Narcan just “first aid”.  Some of our emergency response folks have Naloxone/Narcan to bring to incidents that might occur as well. The safety officer on our campus provided several training that anyone on campus could attend on how to use Naloxone/Narcan and where the locations are on campus just last quarter.
