Hi everyone,

This is Fernando Mejia Ledesma with Communities for Our Colleges<https://ourcolleges.org/>. I've had the privilege to meet most of you over the last three years. I know our team has been engaging with you around the upcoming Racial Equity Toolkit webinar this coming Monday, December 4th from 10am-11:30am.

In June, we met with REOs and students from across the state to learn how different campuses implemented the Racial Equity plans mandated by SB 5194. We discussed creating a toolkit to utilize in the equity plan process. We continued to work with REOs, SBCTC and students to develop this toolkit<https://ourcolleges.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Equity-Toolkit-September-2023.pdf>.

C4C is holding a Racial Equity Action Plan webinar which is taking place on Monday, December 4th from 10-11:30am. The purpose of the webinar is to review our toolkit, share some Racial Equity best practices from a few colleges, and identify next steps on the implementation of SB 5194 racial equity action plans going into 2024. This work continues to be critical given the constant attacks<https://www.insidehighered.com/news/quick-takes/2023/11/15/california-judge-suspends-community-college-dei-rules> on DEI across the nation.
