[DEOC] MSSDC Meeting Laison Notes

Hi Fam,
Attached are the meeting notes from the MSSDC meeting I attended at Yakima Valley College Nov. 15-17, 2023.

I want to focus your attention to the asks from MSSDC:

  *   Requesting in Spring (Skagit Valley College) meeting together with DEOC for clarification of roles and how to work together

  *   Continue to advocate for a representative from your college to join the MSSDC<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yyhBOUGjBnJG7_CcCy3lAcspjfmdIvOfTYIiRxu9T1k/edit#gid=0> if you don't have one
  *   Asking for help for funding Linda Sasour for SOCC, can DEOC sponsor part of her fee? $5000
  *   Student safety support, MSSDC is in the process of crafting a letter/statement about safety of Muslim students on campuses across the community college system
  *   If no MSSDC representative from your college, can DEOC member recommend a contact for SOCC information to go to? If so send name to Edwina Fui efui at highline.edu<mailto:efui at highline.edu>
  *   Encouraging DEOC to share their expertise with students by giving a workshop at SOCC Workshop Proposal Form: 34th Annual Students of Color Conference (google.com)<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdoam6ReAYHRIdPljEb568scPOGKonpqxVX8UADlnAviY6hIg/viewform>
