Good afternoon colleagues!

Thank you to those of you able to join us to discuss the possibility of creating a Pacific Northwest Chapter of NADOHE. It was wonderful to meet many folks for the first time and to learn about some of the efforts previously made to start a Washington chapter.

If you know of others who are NADOHE members and are interested in joining a PNW chapter and are not on this email, please fill out this form<https://forms.gle/zAS1Knw3Tc2eG37SA> to be added to the mailing list.

NADOHE national bylaws dictate that all members and officers of a chapter must have a current NADOHE membership either as an individual or as an institution.
The group that convened agreed to move forward with a NADOHE PNW Chapter in the following ways:

  1. Form an unincorporated chapter that brings together NADOHE members from Oregon and Washington, with thoughts of expanding the invitation to other states (Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana) in the future. After the chapter gets established, it can apply to be an incorporated chapter.
  2. Elect the following position to serve a two-year term on the Leadership Council, working to get a balance of representation from Oregon and Washington:

     *   Chair
     *   Vice Chair
     *   Secretary
     *   Treasurer
     *   3 Members

  1. Use this timeframe for elections:

     * All NADOHE members living in Washington or Oregon will vote

        * Nominations due by Friday, Sept. 29
        * Voting open from Friday, Oct. 6 to Friday, Oct. 20
        * Results will be announced on Friday, Oct. 27

     * First NADOHE PNW meeting early- to mid-November
We will be back in touch by the end of August with a call for nominations for anyone interested in serving on the Leadership Council. Once we have a Leadership Council formed, we can fill out an application for the chapter and officially get started.

Thank you all again for your interest and support in this endeavor. It's been wonderful getting to meet many of you, and we look forward to doing our good work together.
