[ctcLinkfinaidsupport] Action Items: MP Issue #2 CBS for BA Degree Students

Good Afternoon FA -

In April, the solution to Prorate WCG and CBS based on FA Load was released. We are ready to share our proposed solution to the next issue from the FAST Maintenance List which is that CBS is not packaged accurately for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree.

Overview
*         Issue: Currently the CBS Setup page does not have a field to store the BAS Full time CBS Maximum amount. The CBS equation engines take the students maximum eligible award amount and subtracts the WCG award amount, often resulting in a negative number which cannot be packaged. FA staff must manually enter or adjust CBS for BAS students
*         Proposed Solution: Modify the custom CBS Setup page to store maximum award amounts based on degree level. In addition, the criteria in the CBS award amount equations would be updated to determine the students program plan and refer to the associated Full Time Maximum CBS BAS award amount in set up to calculate the correct CBS BAS amount for the student
*         Estimated Implementation Timeframe: Late Summer/Early Fall 2023
