Dear WSSSC,
As previously discussed, we are working to enhance collaboration between our financial aid directors and College Aid Services. To support this effort, CAS will be participating in the FAC Drop-In meeting scheduled for June 11 at 10:00 AM. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in strongly encouraging your directors to attend this meeting. Please find below a message from the current FAC President regarding the importance of their participation. Our goal is to ensure full system representation at these meetings so that we can effectively collaborate and advance this work together. Thank you for your support

Hi Jessica,
Apologies for my delay in responding, I am just getting back into the office from being out. I will get today's meeting maker updated and remove the information about the CAS meeting and add that into the meeting for June 11th.
I will be honest, some colleges just are not as involved in FAC and the process within that. Despite best efforts to involve some, there are some schools just not as involved. What I can do is send out a specific email to the Dirfinaid listserv today that the meeting today with CAS is cancelled and it will be a normal drop in and that we are rescheduling and truly need representation from all colleges. Make a plea that way. It also may be that not all actually accepted the invite but it would still be on their calendar and so in those cases I do not believe it will show up on the invitation list.
That is my best suggestion on how to get more involvement for the June 11th meeting. We can monitor to see who is accepting and send out something next week too. I would say if we do not get involvement in this meeting we will likely need to push out to July with Summer starts and NASFAA.

Hello Ashley,
I hope this message finds you well. Unfortunately, we will need to cancel the upcoming FAC Drop-In meeting scheduled for tomorrow. We are planning to reschedule the meeting for June 11 at 10:00 AM PST. If that time works for FAC, as well.
When reviewing the invitation list, it was noticed that a few colleges may be missing. Since one of our key goals is to ensure all colleges have an equitable opportunity to participate in the collaboration with CAS, do you have any insight on why some colleges may not be involved, or suggestions on how we might better engage everyone moving forward?
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to your insights!

Hello Jessica,
I wanted to check in if you had an agenda I can attach to the meeting maker for next Wednesday? I had a few people reach out and ask what to expect for the meeting, so I wanted to see if we had that ready so people could know what to expect for the upcoming meeting.
I will be out of the office until starting today at noon until Wednesday but I will be checking emails periodically so can get that added to the meeting maker once ready.
Thank you!

Hi Ashley,
I recommend adjusting the meeting description now so colleges are aware that CAS and SBCTC will be joining on May 28. When I send you the finalized agenda, can you please attach it to the meeting, as well?
Also thank you for including the meeting details, I will be sure to share it with those attending.
Thanks again!

Hi Jessica,
Yes we would definitely be open to adjusting the May 28th meeting at 1 pm to be geared towards a collaboration effort with SBCTC and CAS. I am happy to adjust the meeting description for that day, just so others know, that the meeting will include CAS and SBCTC. Let me know if that would be best to do now or wait until final agenda is ready. Below is the meeting information.
If others need to be added to the already created meeting maker, I am happy to do that or Jessica I can include you in this one and you can forward as needed. Please just let me know!

Hi Ashley,
Happy Wednesday!
I reached out to Krista to see if SBCTC and CAS can attend the May 28 FAC Drop-in meeting. Our goal is to have this meeting be the start of our collaboration efforts and bring everyone together as we move forward.
Would we be able to attend on May 28? If so, once the agenda is finalized, I'll be sure to share it.
Thanks!

Good Afternoon Jessica,
After our FAST meeting yesterday, Ana Ybarra mentioned it may be best to get you a list of volunteers from Spring FAC that are willing to assist in discussions stemming from the CAS report. There was mention at Spring FAC that we want to be able to have a voice at the table with any decisions that are being made from or any policy changes proposed. We have also shared the below list with our WSSSC Liaison, Krista Francis in the hopes to be able to join the conversation. Below are the individuals that would be willing to meet as a group to provide any insight, if needed.
I am happy to assist in coordinating times with CAS/SBCTC as needed.
* FAC Leadership (Kimberly Geer kimberly.geer at lwtech.edu<mailto:kimberly.geer at lwtech.edu>, Ashley Clark ashley.clark at sfcc.spokane.edu<mailto:ashley.clark at sfcc.spokane.edu>, Chantel Fields cfields at btc.edu<mailto:cfields at btc.edu>)
* Jennifer Fetters (jennifer.fetters at bellevuecollege.edu<mailto:jennifer.fetters at bellevuecollege.edu>)
* Becky Thompson (rebecca.m.thompson at seattlecolleges.edu<mailto:rebecca.m.thompson at seattlecolleges.edu>)
* Deann Holliday (dholliday at cascadia.edu<mailto:dholliday at cascadia.edu>)
* Celva Boon (celva.boon at cptc.edu<mailto:celva.boon at cptc.edu>)
* Tracey Dahl (tracy.dahl at centralia.edu<mailto:tracy.dahl at centralia.edu>)
* Beth Hawes (bhawes at greenriver.edu<mailto:bhawes at greenriver.edu>)
Additionally, we have pre-scheduled FAC Drop Ins on the second Wednesday of the Month at 10:00 am and the fourth Wednesday of the Month at 1:00pm. This is when many in the FAC community come to discuss issues/best practices. If we know in advance CAS and/or SBCTC would like to join us, we can advise the community that day's session would be specific to questions or information needed for CAS/SBCTC.
Thank you! Please let me know if anything else is needed from the FAC Leadership (I have included Kim Geer as Past President and Chantel Fields as President Elect as well).
