Dear WCHSCR Board,


Attached is a joint letter from the Council of Presidents, Independent Colleges of Washington, and State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, regarding the Student Success and Taxpayer Saving Plan currently under consideration in Congress. This letter was sent to the Washington Congressional Delegation.



In the letter, Washington's higher education leaders argue that the proposed changes to Pell Grant eligibility, federal student loans, and institutional "risk sharing" would create significant barriers to higher education access and affordability for Washington's students and families. It urges members of Congress to consider the impacts this legislation would have on our state's students, workforce, and communities.
