Just a reminder that ed session proposals are open for the 2025 Student Leadership Conference. We have 6 presenters that have already confirmed sessions, yay!

I have sent a reminder to past presenters and now we would like to invite some new folks. Subject: CUSP Student Leadership Conference 2025 - Education Session Proposals are Now Open!

Hello!

The 2025 CUSP<https://www.cuspwa.org/> Student Leadership Conference will be back at Green River College on September 3-5, 2025. All 34 CTC schools are invited to bring students to the conference and learn about general leadership topics. We are writing to see if you would be interested in presenting an education session again this year. CUSP will be providing a $200 stipend per session for presenters.

There are four education session blocks within the conference schedule:

  *   Thursday, September 4th from 10:45 am - 11:30 am
  *   Thursday, September 4th from 4:00 pm - 4:45 pm
  *   Friday, September 5th from 9:15 am - 10:00 am
  *   Friday, September 5th from 10:15 am - 11:00 am

If you are interested in presenting again this year, please reply to this email to indicate your interest and then complete the session proposal<https://form.jotform.com/243456137693161> form no later than Friday, February 28th at 5pm. We are hoping to be more proactive in scheduling this year, thank you for your patience!

Each session should fall into one of the four learning outcomes identified for the conference:

Student Empowerment & Advocacy

Ways this may be accomplished include:

  *   leveraging student voice and the power of their voice
  *   how student leaders can play a role in the goals of the state system
  *   networking amongst the CTC system
  *   civic engagement

Shared Sense of IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility)

 Ways this may be accomplished include:

  *   diversity, equity, and inclusive, anti-racist practices

Transformational Leadership

Ways this may be accomplished include:

  *   Leadership theory & Values Clarification
  *   Conflict Resolution/ Mediation, Problem-solving
  *   effective communication
  *   Intentional design to have educational opportunity for student leaders at different places on the transformational leadership scale
  *   Acknowledging Lived Experiences

Organizational Development

Ways this may be accomplished include:

  *   Formal Facilitation of meeting – Roberts Rules
  *   Non-Robert’s Rules Meetings
  *   Student Programming: Basics of planning a great event
  *   S&A Fees (universal rules in the state)
