[Wsssc] Updates

Greetings WSSSC Members:

As a follow-up to the WSSSC meeting last Thursday, I wanted to outline the plans to reorganize the SBCTC Education Division. As of July 1, 2024, we will have the following changes:


  1.  Dr. Lauren Hibbs, director of student services, will be leaving the agency as of June 30, 2024. We thank Lauren for her service to the agency, policy work in the student services arena, and her connections to our colleges' leadership in supporting students including the helpful staffing of WSSSC.
  2.  Jamie Traugott, current director of dual credit and strategic initiatives, will assume student services responsibilities including the staffing of WSSSC. She will be reaching out to WSSSC leadership to plan next steps. Before coming to SBCTC, Jamie was a director in student services at Pierce College so is looking forward to bringing that experience to her new responsibilities.
  3.  Stephanie Rock, program administrator of dual credit and strategic enrollment initiatives, will assume a policy associate position and be the point person for the dual credit/strategic enrollment areas, and continue to report to Jamie.
  4.  Jennifer Dellinger, policy associate in student support programs (BFET, WorkFirst, etc.) and her team will move under Marie Bruin, director of workforce education, where Jennifer's position originally resided, though her team will maintain a close connection to student services staff and related work.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I appreciate your support for Jamie in her new role and continued collaboration among the other commissions. There may be some initial "bumps" as we transition so thanks in advance for your understanding.
