A recent HigherEd Dive article on the future of learning shares, "In the wake of declining enrollments and rising student expectations, accelerating educational technology adoption has become an urgent strategic priority-not because the use of technology is the future of learning, but because the use of technology catapults learning into the future. Institutions need to understand how different technologies, such as generative AI, are successfully being used in higher education to make informed, strategic decisions about how to use them in their own ecosystem, and to keep pace with institutions that have already taken action."



With this sentiment in mind, this joint hour will bring instruction and student service leaders from across the system to discuss the following questions about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) at their institutions:

  *   How will the use of AI impact our institution's overall mission and values?
  *   What specific problems or challenges can AI help solve at our institutions?
  *   How will the use of AI impact our faculty, staff, and students?
  *   What ethical and privacy considerations need to be addressed when using AI in higher education?
  *   What steps will we take to mitigate any potential negative consequences of AI, such as bias or unfairness?
