The FFY 23 Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) Grant application will be released tomorrow, July 1, 2022 in the Online Grant Management System<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/ (Links to an external site.)<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/>> (OGMS).
Please see your campus OGMS security contact for access to the FFY23 application. Your OGMS security contact<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx (Links to an external site.)<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx>> must give you access to each grant application, each year. When you log into OGMS, be sure to navigate to the FY23 screen to find the correct application. After you have access to OGMS and the application, the OGMS user manual<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/docs/OGMS_UserManual.pdf (Links to an external site.)<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/docs/OGMS_UserManual.pdf>> can answer other questions you may have about using OGMS.

Please read this email thoroughly prior to beginning your grant application.
Important Dates
7/1/22 - Grant application available
8/11/22 - Grant applications due no later than 11:55 pm*
10/1/21 - Grant start date
9/30/23 - Grant end date
*SBCTC staff are only available to assist until 4:00 pm.
There will be a grant information webinar on 7/8/22 at 10 AM.  This will be recorded and posted in CANVAS if you are unable to attend.
Here are some import items to keep in mind as you complete your grant application:

  *   Be sure to read all instructions and requirements prior to starting your application
  *   There are changes in the way you are required to report salaries and benefits.  Please read carefully.
  *   Use your FINAL version of the FFY23 BFET DSHS Budget Workbook, SBCTC BFET Fiscal and Grant Guidelines for reference throughout your application.
  *   In your OGMS grant application, you must use the exact budget numbers that you see in the attached document (also available in the Grant Info section of OGMS). These are based on the numbers submitted to SBCTC in your final DSHS budget workbook. Budget numbers reflect the 50% amount reimbursable by FNS (this is the maximum amount you can bill up to)
  *   Narrative should reflect 100% of local non-federal expenditures and;
     *   Identify where applicable, the total cost per student and number of students anticipated to be served and non-federal sources you will be leveraging (this is the same information and numbers you indicated in your BFET Budget Workbook)

     *   Identify salaries and benefits by FTE, percentage or dollar amounts (example .2 FTE, 20%, or $8,000) for each staff being paid in whole, part or leveraged by BFET, additionally make sure that each staff's duties are represented
NOTE: Positions included must provide services unique to BFET participants and may not include services offered to the general student population at no cost.
You must upload the following items with your grant application:

  *   BFET Grant Assurances
  *   Data Security Agreement
  *   Any BFET Program Alternate Form (if using for FFY23) - forms must be submitted regardless of prior years' approvals. If you do not submit any form(s) it will be assumed that you are NOT using an alternate form for FFY23
  *   Federally Approved Indirect Letter (this must be uploaded if you intend to bill for more than the allowable 5%)
  *   BFET Matrix
  *   Subsidized Work based Learning Plan if you are providing this service.
