Good morning, WSSSC. Our colleagues at WSAC asked me to share this invitation with you. I know a few of you already participate in this basic needs advisory work (thank you!), but you are all invited to the May 20 meeting. See below…

Subject: Invitation: Postsecondary Basic Needs Advisory Group May 20, 9am
Importance: High

Hello colleagues,

Washington postsecondary students face increasing challenges meeting basic needs as the state and national pandemic and economic crises continue. We invite you to join the Washington Student Achievement Council in a convening of cross-sector leaders in the Postsecondary Basic Needs Advisory Group on May 20, 9am – 12pm (Register here<https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZIpd-utrzksGdNdpFvNcLRwEejflGwQmGov>)

In our May 20 Advisory Group meeting, we will:

- Examine wins and continuing challenges for postsecondary basic needs support in our 2021 legislative session and federal changes from the views of advocates, stakeholders and policy makers.

- Explore and seek your views on a new draft State Vision and Action Agenda on postsecondary basic needs. This Vision and Action Agenda will create a roadmap for statewide support of basic needs, and your engagement and feedback on its development are important!

- Consider our next steps as an Advisory Group to advance postsecondary basic needs.

This Advisory Group meeting will build on Washington’s momentum in understanding and connecting policy, partnerships and practices supporting postsecondary students’ basic needs. In collaboration with partners, WSAC first convened the Student Supports Advisory Group in July 2019. Our Oct 2020 convening led to our current statewide planning work on a Vision and Action Agenda, which we’ll explore together on the 20th.
