Dear State Board members, chancellors, and presidents,

In winter 2020, colleges enrolled 150,938 full-time equivalent students (FTEs) from all fund sources, down 1 percent (-1,967 FTEs) from winter 2019. State supported FTEs were down 3 percent (-2,834 FTEs), while contract funded FTEs were up 3 percent (1,206 FTEs) for the same period. Self supported FTEs experienced an 11 percent decline (-339 FTEs) year over year.

Enrollments were up for:


  *   Applied Baccalaureate: 4,239 FTEs, up 23 percent (780 FTEs)
  *   Corrections Programs: 2,760 FTEs, up 4 percent (102 FTEs)
  *   eLearning: 54,906 FTEs, up 8 percent (3,862 FTEs)
  *   I-BEST: 2,783 FTEs, up 3 percent (79 FTEs)
  *   Opportunity Grant: 2,609 FTEs, up 1 percent ( 19 FTEs)
  *   Running Start: 24,527 FTEs, up 3 percent (784 FTEs)
  *   Worker Retraining: 6,661 FTEs, up 2 percent (116 FTEs)

Enrollments were down for:


  *   Apprenticeships: 4,226 FTEs, down 3 percent (-138 FTEs)
  *   Basic Education for Adults: 14,150 FTEs, down 2 percent (-297 FTEs)
  *   Basic Food, Employment and Training: 3,156 FTEs, down 29 percent (-1,310 FTEs)
  *   International FTE: 8,147 FTEs, down 13 percent (-1,238 FTEs)
  *   International Contract: 5,443 FTEs, down 16 percent (-1,040 FTEs)
  *   WorkFirst: 1,353 FTEs, down 18 percent (-296 FTEs)
