Subject: Strategic Technology and Governance Task Force

Good afternoon:

The WACTC-Tech Committee, recognizing the need to move forward in planning technology solutions for our colleges, will form a Strategic Technology Planning and Governance Task Force.  The primary purpose of the task force is to develop the definitions and structure that will guide technology planning, development and acquisition in our college system.  Please see the attachment which explains the major components of the work to be accomplished by the task force.

We are not asking the task force to make substantive decisions about the technology; rather the task force’s role is to create the definitions and structure within which those future decisions can be made.

The task force will be comprised of two representatives from each of the commissions.  This email is being sent to all the commission chairs and vice chairs soliciting their appointments to the task force.  We are looking for people who can represent the broad interests of the colleges, and who also have a strong interest in technology and how it can be used to enhance the performance of our colleges and the success of our students.
