I would like to let you know that due to an emergency situation at Bates, I have decided to stay on campus for the next several days to take on a quick assignment.  Therefore, I am not able to attend the WSSSSC meeting at Cascadia, although I was so looking forward to it. I hope I will see you soon at later meetings or conferences.
