The exempt Education Planner is responsible for assisting students in becoming Running Start students, assisting students in developing meaningful career goals by providing academic planning assistance, coordinating high school outreach functions, and marketing and promoting college programs related to the Running Start Program.  This position will serve as the liaison between area high schools and the College. The Education Planner reports to the Running Start Manager.

The exempt Retention Specialist at Lower Columbia College is responsible for enhancing student persistence and success through a combination of outreach activities, programming, and case management. This position provides coaching, guidance and support for a caseload of students to ensure students have the best opportunity to achieve their educational goals, in addition to leading college-wide efforts to improve overall retention of all students. The Retention Specialist will use analytics to determine individual student risks and needs, and support the development of strategies that assist students in setting and succeeding in an educational pathway.
