DACA letter talking points

* Preserving the DACA program is the right thing to do morally and economically.

* Students in this program are part of the fabric of communities - they are our friends, neighbors and community leaders. Many have no memory of the country their parents came from.

* They live this American life with us. And, like all our students, they come to our colleges to build better lives for themselves and their families.

* Our country made a promise to these students in the form of DACA and we should keep our promise. Students should not live in fear of deportation.

* We have an unflinching commitment to open education and diversity because we know - without a doubt - that our quality of life here in Washington improves when everyone has educational opportunity.
