Here is what George sent to us back in December. I haven't done anything about it because it wasn't broken. But maybe not is the time?

It has come to my attention from a handful of sites that due to a recent or upcoming ALMA update, you may need to make some changes to your linking parameter for EBSCO in ALMA to include the Customer ID and your site's OPID.  I can provide the customer ID easily if needed, but must request the OPID from tech support. The OPID is unique to a profile. Hence, one customer could have multiple OPIDs for various profiles, but the one for the ALL EBSCO should be the best one.

Let me know if you need these to input into ALMA to avoid linking errors that ask student to log into an account before seeing the full text.

You have to get your OPID number directly from EBSCO.

We contacted George Dragich (gdragich at EBSCO.COM<mailto:gdragich at EBSCO.COM>). As far as I know, he's the EBSCO customer service rep for all the WA community & technical colleges

The OPID was a big thing back in January 2022 when EBSCO implemented it, so check your email folders in case you already contacted George Dragich about it.

It will be ok!

Thanks. That's good to know. I will try it. That's in the Electronic Services Editor?

What did you put for OPID? What is the OPID? I know our Customer ID...

For what it's worth, I called Ebsco Tech Support and they said they got a call from an institution earlier today with the same issue. What they said is that openurl.ebscohost.com should be openurl.ebsco.com.

So, now I'm super confused. But, I'll try adding those two things (once I figure out what OPID is) and see if it makes a difference. Good lord!

Their tech support says that the problem is at Ebscohost end. Here's her advice:

It looks to me like Primo is correctly applying your proxy, so it's linking out. The problem is occurring when EBSCOhost takes the reins, so to speak, and tries to redirect to the resource.
