[Wactclc-primo] Alma Refresher Training schedule

Hi Deb,

I am resending this information, as I wasn't clear on whether or not to work from home on Tuesday, October 20th. Also, I am not sure what areas of training I should take as it isn't completely clear to me what duties I am responsible for as Library Technician. For example, I would like to attend the introduction, which covers a workshop overview, etc., but I don't know if I need to learn about: Fund structures; Vendors, interfaces, EDI.

Below is my original email...

So, would we still come in to work on campus, but you will cover the phones, etc. or can we work from home?

I would like to attend the first session on Monday (my day off):

Monday morning session:

  *   Introduction – all staff •Workshop overview •Inventory model, searching •User roles and tasks (1hour)
  *   Technical Services overview - Fund structures; Vendors, interfaces, EDI

I'm not sure if I need to attend the Technical Services course on Monday afternoon, as I don't know if I am responsible for these areas. Topics covered are ordering and receiving. We don't use Alma for ordering, but at one point I was told that I could possibly do the ordering of some material (not sure if ordering items is part of my Library Technician role. I would need to review my job description). If this is something that I will be responsible for down the road, then I would like to take the "refresher" session for some basic training.

Tuesday Morning session:

I haven't been doing any invoicing. So, I am not sure if I need to take the first morning session. I would definitely like to take the second morning session -

Manual Cataloging and Record Management.

I would also like to take both of the afternoon TS sessions on Tuesday.
