I can't think of any way to make the availability statement change based on shelf location or whether something circulates, unfortunately.

Technically, the availability statement is about ownership, rather than services. So, 'available' technically means you have it in the collection, rather than what type of access a user has for the title.

It's the presence (or not) of the 'request' link that provides the service point for requests.

So, one option would be to relabel the 'request' link to 'request for curbside pickup', or something like that.

And then leave availability statement as 'available at {1}'. Or, 'present at {1}', or maybe there is better wording someone can think of.


For 'special access' requests, you could add a 'special access' general electronic service (ges) (selecting 'no' for whether than GES is an ILL service). Then, in display logic rules, configure that GES to not display if hold request service is available. That way, the special access link would only show if something wasn't requestable. The 'special access' link could go to an 'ask a librarian' or other form, or however you want to take those special requests.

That link would appear in the 'Links', rather than the Get it! Section. But it would be something.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding our set-up for curbside. When we closed our library, I changed our Primo Calculated Availability Text Label from Available at {1} to COVID Alert: Not Currently Available at {1}.

Now I'm worried that when I turn it back to Available at {1}, it will be misleading for students. For example, our reference books won't really be available as we don't circ them.

Any idea what we could do there?

My other question is: is there a way to edit the Get It section for items that aren't requestable (again reference) to tell students they can call with special requests?
