[Wactclc-primo] Primo trying to connect online results to physical holdings

I believe it's a case of the Alma link resolver not being able to resolve the article citation to an available online resource.

If you look at the PNX for those article citations, the citations appear to be originating from a Gale activation in the PCI.

For whatever reason, the Alma link resolver is unable to match that citation the electronic collection where Pierce has that title available (ProQuest).

The 'get it' section comes up because you do have the physical title in your collection. (To get accurate physical matching to the physical issue level, you need complete holdings range metadata in your records. Which a lot of you don't maintain. So link resolver will simply check to see if you have the title.)

Meanwhile, the newspaper search discussion on Primo-L I don't think applies here, since the dedicated newspaper search is not in use here.

Just FYI, a useful test in a case like this is to search for the same thing in a PCI only scope, and see if the behavior is different.

Pierce doesn't have such a scope. But I looked at Highline's PCI scope, and the results are similar.

So, I think those Wall Street article citations coming from Gale are invalid somehow, or cannot be processed by the link resolver for some reason.

I'll open a general ticket on this, though as a data services issue, it will likely take a while to resolve, as it requires metadata investigation and correction.

Here's a new one! Primo is turning our online results into physical results... or trying to.

If you do a search for "u.s. via glitch" in Primo you get some Wall Street Journal results.

Click on one and it takes you to Get It instead of View It

I saw something on Primo-L about Newspaper Search results - not sure if this is related.
