Greetings, wonderful WACTCLC community!

I have learned so much from interacting with this listserv and community and wanted to let you know I appreciate learning from you all. I recently published a paper with DeGruyter on machine learning in algorithms and racism. It's in an open access journal here :(https://doi.org/10.1515/opis-2020-0007). I'd love to hear your thoughts!

While it crosses over many subject matters, it relates so much to the work we do with Primo. The call for papers was inspired by Safiya Noble's book, Algorithms of Oppression<http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/1050455777> which I think is a valuable thing for all of us to read, despite some problematic assumptions the author makes about technology.

I'm very grateful to Greg Bem who has contributed so much to this community not only with his leadership and projects, but when I personally reached out to him for help with this paper, he was willing to be a peer reviewer. His expertise and knowledge was incredibly valuable. We're lucky to have him! Thanks, Greg!
