One question, how did you find your original permalink for the credo-originating citation?

If I do an ‘everything’ search for ‘Fausto-Sterling, Anne’, I come up with the following search result, which is a GVRL citation, rather than the Credo citation, and so does not contain the Credo link from the PCI citation:

If GVRL is providing the same coverage, maybe you could just de-activate the Credo collection in the PCI.

Meanwhile, to answer your question, he online services order settings apply only to the order of the link resolver links. So, the links in the ‘view it’ section.

You can control direct linking from brief search results via the Direct Linking Configuration.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any way to control the display of the hardcoded links contained within some PCI citations. Typically, you wouldn’t want to suppress their display. Except in cases where the source of the citation does not match the source from which you buy the content.

It’s likely that the links could be suppressed globally, through CSS. But that’s not something I’d recommend, as the PCI hardcoded links are going to be useful more often than not.

Would checking the box (in Online Services Order) that says, “Prefer source service” send the user to the “View it” source with Direct Linking, rather than the PCI link?  The information box explains more but I’m not exactly sure what it’s saying: “Check this box in order to display services that match the source first (Relevant to Primo Central sources) – This option takes precedence over any sorting criteria except for ID based Liking services.”

That citation itself is coming from a credo activation in your PCI.

That’s where the “View full text in Credo Reference (Subscribers only)” link lives, in the PCI citation.

You could deactivate that collection in the PCI to solve the problem, but then you wouldn’t get the article level discovery for that Ebsco title.

That’s the downside to using alternative coverage activations in the PCI for Ebsco. You can end up with those hardcoded links that live in the citation records that aren’t actually relevant to your users.

I just had something similar brought to my attention.  There is an entry for “Fausto-Sterling, Anne” in the eBook, American Women of Science since 1900.  The book only lives in our Ebsco eBooks collection. But the Primo record actually sends us to the Credo Reference PCI “link”, where it doesn’t exist, rather than the Ebscohost eBook “View it” link where it DOES live. When I download our portfolios from Credo Reference collection,  there is no such portfolio in my CredoReference collection to delete.  However when I search for that portfolio it shows it’s in CredoReference even though it’s not, and I have no way to delete it.  I’m so confused!  How do I get it to stop sending us to Credo instead of Ebsco?  Is this another example of something that will go away early next year?

If the title has deactivated (but not deleted) portfolios in the IZ, the title will still appear in Primo VE.

This will be fixed early next year.

Until then, to resolve the issue you need to delete, not just deactivate, portfolios.

I have been noticing that there are several of our eBooks they are displaying in Primo, but we don’t actually have them? I am seeing more and more eBooks that say “Check for available resources”. Any thoughts on what may be going on here?
