[Wactclc-primo] Citation Labels

Actually, to suppress a label, you want to set the label's value to "NOT_DEFINED".

The setting of the Enabled field has no effect on the display of the label.

At least as per the documentation:

https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/025Display_Configuration/030Configuring_Display_Labels_for_Primo_VE

  * If you do not want to display a code's label in Primo VE, specify NOT_DEFINED per language.
  * The setting of the Enabled field has no effect on the display of the label.
  * To define a view-specific label, create a new row using the following format for the code: <Institution's Code>:<View's Code>.<Label's Code>. The system will use the code without the prefix for the default label.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for this tip, Ryer! I tried following the steps below at Pierce College and it's not working for me.

Admittedly, I'm a bit rusty. :) Shouldn't this change show up right away now that we're on Primo VE?

Sticky fingers... I mean LCC, as in Lower Columbia. Before I confuse anyone too much.

Hi everyone,

Lindsay from LLC just discovered that Centralia is one of the only schools that has removed MLA (7th) from the citation options, which she was looking to do too. Of course this depends on your campus needs, but if you want to disable 7th or some other style, here is how:

Location: Alma > Configuration > Discovery > (Display Configuration group) Labels

Scroll down to Citation Labels -> Edit

Within this long list you can turn off ones you don't want with the "Enabled" switch, and adjust other language/labels of this area.

As a general tip, which Wade and others have shared previously, your browser "Inspect" tool is really helpful for finding the label code. Once you have the code you can search for it in the label code table page (Labels). These may look something like this "citation.labels.apa"

Happy Wednesday, Hope it's nice weather in your areas too.

Ryer
