[Wactclc-primo] Primo VE Search: No "Available in the Library" Limiter

I noticed intermittent results as well, when I was attempting to duplicate Lesley's original observation. Sometimes a notice a change in the facets construction, and sometimes I don't.

All of the facets are generated in real time, based on the results of your search. Depending on how large of a results set Primo VE needs to deal with, it may simply take longer to generate all of the facets.

(For example, a smaller search results set might not be as prone to erroneous facet generation as a large search results set.)

And ExL did do some tweaking of search response times in Primo VE for the June release, which just came out on June 2. So what we're seeing in the facets generation might be those attempts at search results improvement.

The usual Alma monthly update hotfix will roll out on June 9 (this weekend), so there may be improvements in this issue after that date.

Traci, we had something glitchy going on with "available in the library" today, too. A staff member pointed the same thing out to me about half an hour ago...after doing a general search, titles were retrieved that clearly were available in the library - but she had no option to limit to those. I did exactly the same search, same browser, on my work station, and I did have the option. Then, together, we did the same thing on her station to verify that our results had been different. She still didn't have the option...but two minutes later we searched again on her station and she did. (I know, that's the definition of crazy, right - doing the same thing over and expecting a different result? But systems don't always follow normal rules - we did it over, and got a different result. :) )

The issue is still toggling back and forth for me as we speak. When I started typing this reply, I could choose "available in the library" but now it's not there. Are there major solar flares today or something?

I just did a search using the keyword grilling in Primo VE. The first result is a print book that we have in the library, but I don't see an option to limit the availability to items in the library.
