[Wactclc-primo] Tables of Contents in Primo VE

Hi Sally:

Our 505 Contents fields just show up automatically in VE. I don't think we had to do anything special, like adding a display field. Our local display fields are only set up for our 690 local subject headings, and also to make sure that the identifier that shows up in Primo is the ISBN number.

So, hmm. I'm not sure what's happening with yours. Could it be something with how they are importing from OCLC?

Subject: [Wactclc-primo] Tables of Contents in Primo VE

Hi All,

No one here noticed before now that, since we went to Primo VE, our "OneSearch" doesn't show the 505 Table of Contents field. :(

I tried to set it up but it didn't work. In fact, Primo got hung up from what I did -- nothing appeared between Locate It and Details but the dancing diamonds.

What I did (and later undid) was to go to: Discovery>Manage display and local fields>Add display field. Then I chose Contents from the dropdown list of fields, went into the Normalization rule for it, saved it without making any changes, and clicked Apply Rules.

Has anyone else got this working? Thanks for any insight.

I've tested with a book called "Vibrations<https://sbctc-whatcomctc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/fulldisplay?docid=alma99746215002827&context=L&vid=01STATEWA_WHATCC:WHATCOM&search_scope=MyInst_and_CI&tab=Everything&lang=en>" that has a 505 as follows:

"Introduction -- Modeling of vibratory systems -- Single degree-of-freedom systems: governing equations -- Single degree-of-freedom system: free-response characteristics -- Single degree-of-freedom systems subjected to periodic excitations -- Single degree-of-freedom systems subjected to transient excitations -- Multiple degree-of-freedom systems: governing equations, natural frequencies, and mode shapes -- Multiple degree-of-freedom systems: general solution for response and forced oscillations -- Vibrations of beams.
