Hey Wade (or anyone else who might have the answer),

The link is a JavaScript code that my computer isn't recognizing. Is there an alternative URL or other way to access this recording??

Thanks,

Greg

Subject: [Wactclc-primo] Recommended Primo VE webinar recording

I watched this Primo VE webinar this morning, and found it to be very useful for learning more about Primo VE:

Primo VE: Experience the Benefits by Streamlining Primo and Alma<javascript:%20PopRequestWin('92233352',%20'4832534b0000000457ba3c21d0086f12c1021922bced06b8810f20b4f4183dc9014d0c16ae98ca93');>

It's 60 minutes. Or, if you want a 30 minute showing, just watch the 2nd half, which consists of a live demo.

Some takeaways from this webinar:

  1. Journal Search

Journal Search in VE is much improved over Journal A to Z in existing Primo.

The new journal search includes both print and electronic by default. And provides auto-complete of typed search terms, based on the actual journal title holdings of your institution. Very cool!

In addition, once you find a journal title via the Journal Search, you are offered the opportunity to search for articles specificially within that title. Again, very cool.

  1. Search Scopes

With Primo VE, it is much easier, with immediate gratification, to self-configure to search scopes in Primo, basically on the fly.

  1. Views

Similar to scopes, Primo VE makes the task of doing updates to views (label changes, facets, full display changes) much easier, and with immediate gratification.

  1. Resource Recommender

Primo VE makes the task of setting up recommended resources based on the use of specific search terms much easier and quicker.

  1. Syndetics Unbound (NOT a Primo VE thing, but interesting)

Syndetics Unbound has nothing to do with Primo VE, or with the demo.

But during the demo, you get a good look at how Syndetics Unbound content (a content enrichment subscription service) appears when integrated inside of Primo VE.

I liked it a lot.
