[Wactclc-primo] [External] Trying to fix a Primo Problem with New York Times

I am getting 2016 and 2017 NYT articles in ProQuest in my Primo results list.  I don’t know what option I would have checked in PCI since there isn’t one there that obviously corresponds to current newspaper collections, but in Alma I have activated, “ProQuest National Newspapers Core Collection.”  This is probably not the correct collection, as it only has 14 portfolios and I now see “ProQuest U.S. Newsstream” available to activate in the CZ with 896 portfolios.

I can send you what we DO have activated in PCI for ProQuest, although most of the activations are due to the Ebsco alternative coverage list.  Let me know if you think that would be helpful.

I will also try activating “ProQuest U.S. Newsstream” in Alma, and see if I still get recent articles showing in Primo tomorrow.

Hello all,

Edmonds has access to the New York Times, both past and current, through our Proquest subscriptions; however, we are not getting any articles after 2014 in our Primo searches.  We do get current articles when searching directly in the Proquest database, but not in Primo.

When I look at our Proquest titles I see that we have access up to 2014 through our subscription to Proquest Historical New York Times which we have linked through the Primo Central Index.

Our access to the current New York Times is through Proquest US Newsstream, which is part of the state package.  However, I cannot find Proquest US Newsstream in the Primo Central Index or in the Alma Community Zone.

Have other sites discovered this same problem, or has someone discovered what actually needs to be activated through the Primo Central Index in order to get current New York Times articles showing up in Primo.
