Great thanks. Yep, I was look at that FAQ and other documentation, leading me to get excited and see the benefit of this.
Makes so much sense to manage within Alma.

Primo VE will be available in mid-2018, for all customers (TotalCare and otherwise).

Primo VE will basically bring PBO functionality into Alma, removing the need for a separate management interface for Primo.

You can review the Primo VE FAQs at:

But, Ryer, you are correct. You wouldn’t currently be able to self-manage tags in the PBO, as a TotalCare customer.

Thanks for this alternative approach. I can take care of this myself, if we decide to remove/hide these.
My first inclination was to remove, but I am somewhat interested in exploring if there are interesting ways we can use these to help further organize and highlight certain items.

Now I’m wondering about managing tags. It looks like this will be easy in the upcoming Primo VE<https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/Primo_VE/150Managing_Tags>, but in our current environment it looks like<https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/Back_Office_Guide/110Additional_Primo_Features/Tags_and_Reviews> management of tags is a PBO area hidden from us (Total Care customers likely). So, a couple questions:

·         Are these findings correct – no way to manage tags in our current environment?

·         Are we considering moving to Primo VE when available – looks good for many discovery customizations and is even relevant for Total Care customers?

Wade, are you offering to remove the ‘tags’ option for other campuses, too? ☺ We’d greatly appreciate it! I hadn’t noticed ‘tags’ until Ryer started this thread (thanks, Ryer!), but now that we see it, we’d like it removed. Or I can get to it next week, so don’t worry if you’re swamped.

Regarding the ‘tag’s option in the top menu, turns out that the ‘tags’ option *is* controllable via CSS.

The remove ‘Tags’ from the menu, you can use the following CSS.

The TAGS thing appeared sometime before mid-June, after ExLibris did a Primo update.  They removed them quickly when we asked.  (We also lost and had to have replaced several other side menu and details page customizations during the same update, which is how we noticed.)

I’m probably having a Monday/1st Day of Classes moment, but as Total Care customers do we NOT have the ability to do our own customizations to links on Primo topbar – aka the Main Menu Links? Looking around Back Office, it doesn’t seem like something in the ZIP file and we don’t seem to have the “Views Wizard” in this documentation. But maybe I’m missing it.



Did anyone else have TAGS mysterious appear this summer? I’m guessing after an update, since it’s a default link.
