[Wactclc-primo] Problem with baseURL in OCLC

Hi Wade and everyone,

Turns out Dale and I are still linking to the OLD UI. Dale and George have done some experimenting, but haven't figured out a correct deep link yet.

I have an old email from OCLC that says:

It was good speaking with you earlier about your WorldCat Registry deep-link setup this afternoon. I've tried several methods to make deep-linking into individual titles possible, but was not able to get one to work. If this is important to you, ask Ex Libris staff if there is a deep-link URL you can use for searching by ISBN and respond back with it.

An old email from Wade shows how to create the link with the old ui, so I'm opening a ticket with Ex Libris for the new ui link parameters and will let you know that I hear!

Is just to your base Primo instance. It does not drill down to a particular record in Primo, from a particular record in WorldCat.

Dale and Lesley, I can see that both Edmonds and Pierce have record linking from WorldCat to Primo set up correctly for "deep linking", as described here: https://www.oclc.org/support/services/discovery/documentation/deeplinks.en.html. (I'm sure there are others as well who have this configured as well)

So, could one of you post the URL you have configured in OCLC Services Configuration<https://worldcat.org/config/> , under WorldCat Registry - Online Catalog?

It should look something like:

https://wactc-graysharbor-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?tab=default_tab&search_scope=EVERYTHING&sortby=rank&vid=GRAYSHARBOR_V1&lang=en_US&mode=advanced&offset=0&query=any,contains,

But I don't currently have access to anyone's OCLC Services Configuration, to log in and copy/paste the URL directly.

Elena,

The other link you are talking about is for the link resolver service for Alma and Primo.

You would use that link when configuring Ebsco, ProQuest, etc, to point back to your Primo instance. So that users who find an article of interest in Ebsco or ProQuest could click through to the same citation in Primo.

Problem solved. The correct base URL for us (for OCLC, at least) is:  https://skagit-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/search?vid=SKAGIT&sortby=rank&lang=en_US

I still don't understand the purpose of the other URL that we received at implementation and which services I would use that with, but at least OCLC works...

We are having a problem with OCLC Worldshare because the links to our books are not showing up. I went to the Worldcat config and added the Base URL that Le gave us at implementation for external resources https://skagit-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/SKAGIT/SKAGIT?, but this does not seem to work. I get a page that looks like this:

I called OCLC to ask for help. The technician said that the base URL didn't look right and referred me right back to Ex Libris.

What are you all using for your base URLs for OCLC???
