[Wactclc-alma] Circulation History

I looked through the fulfillment configuration and did not find how to set up the anonymization for different material types. Is there a different location in Alma where this is configured?

We have some expensive equipment that checks out to both employees and students, and we sometimes don't discover the equipment has been damaged until several days or weeks after the item has been returned. With faculty/staff equipment especially, we sometimes only find out the equipment is damaged when the next employee checks it out months later.

Given the expense to replace some of this equipment, we wanted to hold onto the info about who used it last in case we need to bill them.

At least, this was our approach pre-pandemic.

We may be rethinking this approach for certain types of equipment that have a relatively short lifespan or where the outside department that's buying the equipment decides to just factor in replacing damaged equipment as a routine operational cost.


It will be ok!

Not if you've anonymized circ history.  You can see historic use by user groups, but the anonymization job strips info that identifies individual patrons out of both Alma and Alma Analytics.

It's possible to configure different anonymization schedules for different types of materials.  For example, we anonymize "regular" circulating materials after 2 days (I think), but we keep circ history for circulating equipment for 6 months.


It will be ok!

Is there an analytics report that can be created to see a history of patrons that have checked out a specific item beyond the retention period?
