Contract Work Opportunity with SBCTC: Seeking OER Experts for Open ProfTech


SBCTC received a second Department of Education Open Textbook Grant to develop seven additional textbooks for our system’s professional technical programs. Launched in July, the project is now seeking three OER and Copyright experts to complete our 4-member OER/Copyright support team.

DETAILS

  *
The contract will span from November 2024 through March 2026.
  *
$8,000 compensation via a personal services contract. *Ethics Board approval is required if employed by a system college.
  *
The team is supported by the OER Lead.

EXPECTATIONS/TASKS:

  *
Attend project orientation.
  *
Participate in monthly support team meetings
  *
Provide ongoing support for faculty authors, including:
     *
References & citations
     *
Locating OER images and managing attributions
     *
Handling copyright permission requests
  *
Finalize book chapters for migration to the online publishing platform.
