[LIBRARYDIR] Leaving librarianship

Hello:



We have a spring LLC meeting coming up on May 13th. I have been serving as secretary on LLC exec team the past year and will be stepping down from my role. This position will be open to fill as of the summer quarter meeting.



I have accepted a position as Professional Development Coordinator in the Office of EDI at Tacoma Community College, which is under the leadership of Roderick Morrison (VP of EDI). I will be starting that position on Monday, May 16th, so my last day in an academic library leadership role will be Friday, May 13th – coincidentally the date of our last LLC meeting! I have had a lot of time to think about this opportunity and meet with the wonderful EDI team who is very team-oriented and passionate about working together. This is not a lateral move for me and takes me out of libraries and librarianship, and I am genuinely looking forward to doing more EDI-focused work with staff and faculty at TCC. I am scared, but I am also excited to have a chance to do this work and be a part of this team.
