This webinar will introduce participants to common tenets of CRT, its emergence from legal studies, its ongoing journey into LIS, and why it's a necessary theoretical and practical lens for LIS. This is meant to be an introductory level webinar for people with little to no background in CRT. There will be time for questions at the end. Participants will gain a basic understanding of:

*  What Critical Race Theory is and where it came from;

*  Where and why CRT and LIS have and should intersect;

*  Why CRT has become a highly contested arena, particularly for politicians.
