Hello all:

As 2-year rep to the Library Council of Washington, I’m piggybacking on the request below.

The LCW is the advisory body to the Washington State Library. Please let me know if you have ideas or needs, especially during the challenges of Covid, that you’d like the State Library to be aware of and address.

Best-

Subject: Library Council of Washington Wants to Know...

Hi all;

I am the four-year colleges and universities representative to the Library Council of Washington - the group that advises the Washington State Library (WSL) on matters related to LSTA funding and general library issues in the state. We will be meeting later this week, and I was hoping to get some feedback from those of you from four-year institutions about what is going on for you right now. How are you managing in these #COVIDTimes? What are the issues that you are confronting? What is important to you right now, and what things are you thinking about for the long term? is there any way that the State Library can help? You can find WSL's official Services to Libraries here<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sos.wa.gov%2Flibrary%2Flibraries%2Fall-services.aspx&data=04%7C01%7C%7C8df9d057b0ad45c010b108d87615f512%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C0%7C637389183978620164%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=TxIroeqMw6f3d6ERsJOuR9aJDTD%2FBuABoEbT5k6yPXU%3D&reserved=0> and while many are oriented towards school and public libraries, grants, partnerships, and professional development opportunities are available for us as well. The First Tuesday webinar series (https://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/firsttuesdays/<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sos.wa.gov%2Flibrary%2Flibraries%2Ffirsttuesdays%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7C8df9d057b0ad45c010b108d87615f512%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C0%7C637389183978620164%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=w0jFw%2BiK7kG0ksBDtyhm6DqQ5zgZElvjiG7nSmFLm0E%3D&reserved=0> ), WebJunction, and the Niche Academy (https://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/training/default.aspx<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sos.wa.gov%2Flibrary%2Flibraries%2Ftraining%2Fdefault.aspx&data=04%7C01%7C%7C8df9d057b0ad45c010b108d87615f512%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C0%7C637389183978630160%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=SS%2FHF%2FrtR4xvHh9pBNoJTrEWHDSWpaaCb55%2FGb07Oso%3D&reserved=0> ) are great and I love the weekly WSL Update (https://sos.us10.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=4cc76b29ebd6084a20161a5f6&id=40682e1d3f<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsos.us10.list-manage.com%2Fsubscribe%3Fu%3D4cc76b29ebd6084a20161a5f6%26id%3D40682e1d3f&data=04%7C01%7C%7C8df9d057b0ad45c010b108d87615f512%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C0%7C637389183978630160%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=JH2pkPsHq9mRLA6MfuFlEm6ZcffH6HHhDVFRYi9z57c%3D&reserved=0>) and monthly Out of the Archives (https://www.sos.wa.gov/archives/newsletter-archive.aspx<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sos.wa.gov%2Farchives%2Fnewsletter-archive.aspx&data=04%7C01%7C%7C8df9d057b0ad45c010b108d87615f512%7C02d8ff38d7114e31a9156cb5cff788df%7C0%7C0%7C637389183978640150%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=wbmKWdhWldLCMyIyru8EJg7AVm9PHxHfyy%2FLbjyb9J4%3D&reserved=0>) newsletters!

I'd appreciate hearing back from you about these. If you are from a two-year institution, Lynn Kanne from Seattle Central (Lynn.kanne at seattlecolleges.edu<mailto:Lynn.kanne at seattlecolleges.edu> ) is the LCW rep for you and I know she'd appreciate hearing from you as well!

Many thanks, and I hope all is well with you,

Lorena
