[LIBRARYDIR] Library reserves

Yesterday I ran across a series of recent posts by the Copyright Advisor for Harvard University. The author seems to be making the argument that it might be fair use for a library to make digital copies of textbook chapters available for limited periods of time, given the current circumstances:

It will be ok!

How is everyone handling this for spring quarter if you have chosen to shut down the library?

In order to protect our staff and do our part in helping stem the spread of the virus, I chose to shut down the TCC Library for spring quarter (albeit with online faculty librarian support). All instruction is going online at TCC. That said, this means that textbook reserves will not be available. We are checking out class sets to instructors to distribute to students, but the individual textbooks will not be accessible.

I'm getting some push back about this. If you are shutting down the physical library, how are you handling textbook reserves?

Thanks
