Good afternoon everybody.
I am writing to let you all know that I am leaving my position as Library Director at Renton Technical College effective November 29th which means I am also saying a fond farewell to my role as the Secretary for LLC. Both these roles and the responsibilities that come with them have been a fantastic growth experience for me over these years and I truly am blessed to have met and worked alongside you all, doing the great work that Libraries do for our students and communities. On December 2, 2019 I will become the Library Manager for Seattle Children's Hospital and Research Institute - a very new adventure for me and one that I am absolutely honored to be given.

Attached you will find the draft meeting minutes from our fall 2019 meeting for your approval at the winter meeting online. I have also uploaded them to the winter 2020 folder so they can be attached or edited. During the period with no Library Director representing RTC, Jessica Koshi-Lum, faculty Librarian, will sit in on LLC for the college.

On behalf of our administration here at RTC, the VPI - Stephanie Delaney - has asked me to inquire if there is anyone out there interested in perhaps a 6-month interim position as the Library Director at RTC while they conduct a thorough search for a permanent replacement. This would be a great gig for someone newly retired that just can't seem to shut off their library brain or someone who has fulfilled some aspects of Library Management at your institutions. I am not sure any of the specifics but I can say that the staff here is awesome and really love having strong leadership to help keep them moving forward.  As I will be exiting soon and won't be on my RTC email after the 29th, you could reach out to me here until then and after that at my gmail account: liftinglibrarian at gmail.com<mailto:liftinglibrarian at gmail.com>. You are also welcome to reach out directly to Stephane Delaney (sdelaney at rtc.edu<mailto:sdelaney at rtc.edu>) to express any interest in an interim position, should the college decide to head that direction.
