Sorry, Mindy, all I know is that it's an auxiliary account. When we get a new dean he/she may be able to answer.

Hi Kitty,

Does the money go into your regular budget or do you have a trust fund to enable the money to roll over into the next budget year?

Thanks,
Mindy

Clark uses fees and fine money to buy books and replacement books. This account rolls over; no spending deadline.

We do not charge fines but do generate revenue through rental of netbooks and calculators.
We typically use it to augment the database budget or this year, streaming media costs. Other than that, we depend on those to replace office chairs, buy new scanners, or generally pay for something that we didn't budget for but would like to address before the year ends.

No boundaries!

Good morning,

At Whatcom CC we currently use our fines and fees to pay for items above and beyond our normal lines item, eg., we tap fines/fees to cover national conferences (national ALA and ACRL) and some local travel once we’ve depleted those line items, other prof dev, to fund expensive furniture/white boards, and occasionally collection items.

What kinds of items or stuff do you purchase with fines/fees?

What boundaries do you have in the use of your fines/fees funds?

Thanks in advanced.

Howard
